ABOUT ELVIS ROYALE

 Big Mike Geier’s Elvis Royale is a Vegas- style multimedia extravaganza celebrating the music and culture of Elvis Aaron Presley.  Big Mike is the high-energy bandleader who fronts the Kingsized Rock ‘n Roll Orchestra as they cover tunes from many points in Elvis’ career.  The spectacle grows as the Dames Aflame Showgirls flank Big Mike in lavish costumes and audience members dressed as Elvis parade the stage during for a moment Geier calls “The Cavalcade of Elvis”.  Geier himself does not dress up as Elvis. Six-foot-eight with a shaved head, the imposing, tattooed crooner wows the audience with his big voice and obvious reverence for the material.  His rich baritone is the perfect range for the Elvis songbook and his enthusiasm and enjoyment for the music is infectious.

 Geier's Elvis Royale had humble beginnings when it began in 1996 at the Atlanta’s Star Community Bar, a natural starting place for such a memorial, since it houses the Elvis Vault (a shrine wherein you can play a tune on the Elvis jukebox as you kneel and worship the magic of Elvis).  The show continued to expand and moved to the Echo lounge where the Dames Aflame Dancers joined the line-up.  In 2005, it began its current residence at the Variety Playhouse where it has become a highly- anticipated event and continues to sell out twice a year (celebrating Elvis’ birthday in January and commemorating his death in August).  The show has grown from a rock concert to an interactive event with pre-show tailgate parties, audiences decked out in Elvis costumery, and fans submitting song requests for the W.W.E.D. encore in which Kingsized performs a song that Elvis would have or should have covered had his recording career continued into the 70's, 80's and today.
